What is implantology ?

Implantology is an advanced discipline of dentistry that involves replacing missing teeth with dental implants, offering a durable, functional and aesthetic solution.

Dental implants are artificial roots made of titanium or ceramic that support crowns, bridges or dentures.

At White, we use the latest innovations in implantology, such as guided surgery and immediate loading, to ensure fast, optimal results. Whether you require simple or complex rehabilitation, our solutions, including the All-on-4 technique and zygomatic implants, are designed to meet your specific needs.

Dental implants

Dental implants are a durable solution for replacing missing teeth. They consist of an artificial titanium root inserted into the jawbone, to which a prosthetic crown is attached. This method offers stability comparable to that of natural teeth, and prevents bone resorption associated with tooth loss.

Guided surgery

Guided surgery improves the precision of implant placement through digital pre-planning. Based on three-dimensional images of the jawbone, a personalized surgical guide is produced, orienting the practitioner during the procedure. This technique reduces risks and optimizes results by ensuring optimal implant positioning.

Complete maxillary rehabilitation

Full maxillary rehabilitation is indicated for patients who are edentulous or have non-restorable dentition. Advanced techniques, such as the All-on-4® concept, enable a complete dental arch to be restored using just four implants, two of which are angled to maximize the use of available bone and avoid sensitive anatomical structures. This approach minimizes the need for bone grafting and enables immediate loading of the prosthesis.

Immediate loading

Immediate loading involves placing a fixed provisional prosthesis over the implants on the day they are inserted. This approach improves patient comfort by avoiding the need to remain edentulous during the healing period, and promotes faster implant integration. It requires rigorous planning and precise assessment of bone quality to ensure successful treatment.

When should you consult us ?

You should consider an implantology consultation if you present any of the following signs or situations :

  • Loss of one or more teeth
This can affect not only aesthetics, but also mastication.
  • Problems with your current dentures
Instability or discomfort of removable dentures
  • Significant bone wear
Requiring bone regeneration to place solid implants
  • Looking for a fast, effective aesthetic solution
With techniques such as immediate implant or immediate loading

Implantology

offers many advantages over traditional solutions :

Functionality
optimal

Implants enable normal chewing and phonation, as with natural teeth.

Durability

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.

Aesthetics
superior

Modern implants and crowns are designed to integrate perfectly with your teeth.

Bone and tissue preservation

Implants stimulate alveolar bone, preventing bone loss and facial changes.

Comfort and stability

Unlike removable prostheses, fixed implant-supported prostheses do not move.

How does it work ?

2.

Treatment planning

Using digital technology, we design a surgical simulation to ensure optimal implant positioning.

3.

Implant placement

The implant is inserted into the bone under local or general anaesthetic, depending on the case. In complex cases, bone grafting or tissue regeneration may be required.

5.

Fitting the final prosthesis

Once the implant has integrated into the bone (osseointegration), the definitive prosthesis is fixed, providing a durable, aesthetic result.

4.

Immediate or delayed loading

Depending on the technique used, a temporary crown can be placed immediately or after a healing period.

1.

Consultation and diagnosis

An initial visit allows us to discuss your needs, assess your oral health and take X-rays or a 3D scan to plan implant placement.

CabinetWhite anesthesie

General anaesthesia

At White, we offer general anaesthesia in partnership with Mobile Anesthesia Care (MAC), available only in Montreux and Delémont clinics.

Ideal for anxious patients, complex treatments or special needs (children, disabilities), this service guarantees pain-free, stress-free treatment. A team of anaesthetists from the Swiss Medical Association and certified nurses ensure your safety throughout the procedure. After a preliminary assessment, you will be taken care of in our modern facilities. During the treatment, you will be plunged into a deep sleep and monitored continuously. You will wake up quickly and be able to return home the same day.

did you know?

What is the difference between titanium and ceramic implants ?

Titanium implants are the most commonly used because of their strength, durability and ability to osseointegrate, i.e. fuse with bone. They are suitable for most patients and ideal for complex treatments. Ceramic implants, on the other hand, are an aesthetic alternative, particularly suited to the visible areas of the smile. They offer a natural white shade that blends perfectly with the surrounding teeth. What’s more, ceramic is biocompatible and hypoallergenic, making it an ideal option for patients who are sensitive or allergic to metal.

What is the "All-on-4" technique ?

The All-on-4 technique is an innovative method of replacing all the teeth in a dental arch using just four dental implants. These implants are strategically placed to maximize contact with existing bone, even in cases of moderate bone loss. This approach is ideal for patients seeking a fast, stable and aesthetic solution, often avoiding the need for bone grafting. In just one day, patients can leave with a provisional fixed prosthesis, aesthetically restored and functional, significantly improving quality of life.

Is placing an implant painful ?

Dental implants are placed under local or general anaesthesia, making the procedure completely painless. Thanks to the use of modern techniques such as guided surgery, the precision of the procedure is improved, reducing trauma to the surrounding tissue. After the operation, painkillers and anti-inflammatories are prescribed to manage any discomfort. Most patients report a rapid recovery and minimal pain, often comparable to a conventional tooth extraction.

How long does a dental implant last ?

A well-maintained dental implant can last a lifetime, making it one of the most durable solutions for replacing missing teeth. However, its longevity depends on several factors, including good oral hygiene, regular visits to the dentist, and monitoring the surrounding tissue to prevent complications such as peri-implantitis (inflammation around the implant). In addition, high-quality materials, such as those offered by our partners Straumann, Astra, Botiss and Geistlich, guarantee increased strength and perfect integration with the bone.
